Management of Ketu South municipal assemby observed that revenue has reduced during the 2021 fiscal year . In other to improve on revenue in the above situation, Management has approved the training for both old and newly recruited revenue collectors to be trained. The workshop was designed to train skill participants on the strategies outlined to improve revenue mobilization which includes;

• Communication Skills (Customer Relationship)
• Revenue Improvement Action Plan (RIAP)
• The Local Government System
• Legal Framework for Local Government Revenue

The number of participants who attended the training was 20 out of which 16 were males and 4 were females.

The training workshop was facilitated by Mr. Francis Sogbe the Regional Controller, Controller and Accountant General’s Department Ho. Mr. Joseph Banyen from GIZ, Ho nd Mr. Joseph Asameni from GIZ, Accra

The source of fund for the training was DDF and support from GIZ in funding the accommodation, transportation and honorarium for the facilitators.

The method adopted by the facilitators was;

• PowerPoint Presentation
• Participatory Discussion/interaction
• Open Forum for Questions and answers

The presentation was carried out by Mr. Francis Sogbe. He presented on the following;

• Communication Skills (Customer- Customer Relationship)
• The Local Government System
• Legal Framework for Local Government Revenue
• Revenue Improvement Action Plan (RIAP)
• IGF Mobilization per Revenue Source
• Strategies for Improving Revenue Mobilization in MMDA’s
• Application of Web-Based Software for Billing.

It is good to note that Mr. Joseph Banyen from GIZ, Ho also supported during the presentation in giving more clarification to some questions that the participants asked during the presentation.
