SITE VISIT TO THE 24-HOUR ECONOMY MARKET AT GLIDZI

A significant milestone was reached on Thursday, 26th March, 2026 when Management of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly lead the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Nicholas Kwabla Worclachie and staff of the Assembly, the Consultant to the project and the Kukubor family visited the site earmarked for the 24 Hour Economy Market at Glidzi. The  visit provided an opportunity to discuss key infrastructure plans, project timelines and the positive impact the project will have on the local community.

The market spanning over a 5.21 acre land will be a hub of activity which will offer a unique advantage of operating around the clock shopping and business which will enhance trade, create jobs and contribute to the overall economic growth of the municipality.

SITE VISIT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF LOCKABLE STORES AT DEN MARKET

The Ketu South municipal Assembly on 12th January 2023, visited the site for construction of 1 unit 2 storey 40 units lockable stores at the Denu Market.

The Site visit was to inspect progress of the on-going work. The project is steadily going on, civil work has been completed and the project is at 60% completion.

Taking and Handing over of Health Facility at Akame Community

The Ketu South Municipal Assembly handed over a newly constructed CHPS (Community Health Planning System) compound which was started in 2020 to the Health Directorate.
The CHPS compound is a 2-unit 1-bedroom accommodation for staff, a borehole and a polytank.
The facility will replace an older and smaller one at the site.

The Municipal Health Director, who took over the facility, expressed profound thanks to both current and previous Hon. Municipal Chief Executives and the Assembly for initiating and completing it for use.
He indicated that a vehicle was already dispatched to transport equipments for used at the facility.

The facility will be used for six (6) months within which the contractor will be responsible for repairing structural defects that arise.

In attendance were Assembly staff, Assembly members, Ghana Health Service staff including midwife and other staff that will manage the facility.

The facility is expected to serve the Akame CHPS zone and other communities in the enclave.

SOD CUTTING FOR WATER PROJECT AT KUBAKOPE

The Ketu South municipal assembly on the 28th of April 2021 cut a sod for commencement of water project at Kubakope, a community in the locality. This is to ensure development of the community.

CONSTRUCTION OF SHELTER HOME FOR ABUSED CHILDREN

The Municipal Chief Executive has handed over site for the construction of a shelter for abused and vulnerable children for the Municipality at Tokor.

When completed by July, the three bedroom facility will provide refuge for cases being handled by the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development as well as other.

The project is being funded by the District Assembly Common Fund with support from the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ).

KSMA DONATE DESK TO SCHOOLS IN THE MUNICIPALITY

The Ketu South Municipal Assembly donated Dual desks to the Municipal Educational Directorate to be distributed to various basic schools in the municipality.

This is to enhance teaching and learning of both teachers and students in the municipality.
