The Ketu South Municipal Assembly handed over a newly constructed CHPS (Community Health Planning System) compound which was started in 2020 to the Health Directorate.
The CHPS compound is a 2-unit 1-bedroom accommodation for staff, a borehole and a polytank.
The facility will replace an older and smaller one at the site.
The Municipal Health Director, who took over the facility, expressed profound thanks to both current and previous Hon. Municipal Chief Executives and the Assembly for initiating and completing it for use.
He indicated that a vehicle was already dispatched to transport equipments for used at the facility.
The facility will be used for six (6) months within which the contractor will be responsible for repairing structural defects that arise.
In attendance were Assembly staff, Assembly members, Ghana Health Service staff including midwife and other staff that will manage the facility.
The facility is expected to serve the Akame CHPS zone and other communities in the enclave.
