The Ketu South Municipal Secretariat of the National Service Scheme had a successful Orientation for its National Service Personnel (NSP) and NASPA Elections on Thursday, February 8, 2024.

In attendance were the Coordinating Director, Gilbert Avemegah of the Municipal Assembly, the Public Relations Officer of GES in the Municipality, Mr. Charles Dorkenu, Ho Municipal Manager of the National Service Scheme, Mr. Daniel Dag-Sosu and NASPA Executives.

The NSP were taken through their responsibilities and were challenged to put in hard work, be committed and dedicated to duty. Personnel were made to contribute positively to work and the nation for that matter throughout their one year mandatory national service.

The Municipal Manager of the Scheme, Mr. Hope Yevoo, welcome all national service personnel to the Municipality especially the ones who have found themselves on the soil of Ketu South for the very first time. He encouraged the personnel to wholeheartedly accept their postings and not to see their placement as a punishment but an opportunity to gain valuable skills and experiences that will contribute to their future success.

Mr. Gilbert Gemegah advised the NSP to build network with their colleagues and superiors at their places of posting and add value to themselves through the pursuit of further studies, online courses and attending seminars to acquire knowledge for the future. He also took his time to educate the service personnel on the structure of the Assembly Municipal Assembly.

The Ketu Municipal Public Relations Officer of GES admonished all personnel especially personnel deployed to the education sector to be good examples and mentors to the learners at their various schools of posting.

The Ho Municipal Manager of the Scheme took the NSP through their duties and what is expected of them as service personnel. All NSP were well motivated and gingered up to put up their maximum at their various places of posting.

National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) Election was also held on the same day to elect leaders that shall advocate and seek the welfare of their colleague NSP.

The election was only held to elect the President of the of the Association since the other portfolios went unopposed. Mr. Charles Epiphany Ativor came top after the elections, hence, duly elected as the new President of the Association.

All the other elected executives together with the president elect were sworn into office by the outgoing President, Mr. Lord Dotsey Hammond.
