Confirmation of the newly appointed MCE for Ketu South Municipal Assembly was delayed due to the revocation of all former government appointees of the Assembly, including Samuel Doe Haligah, who was the Presiding Member.
All government appointees were informed of their revocation with the hope of taking part in the confirmation exercise scheduled at 10am on Thursday morning.
There was misunderstand few minutes when the confirmation exercise was about to begin and that delayed the whole process but it was resolved and the voting process began and ended successfully.
Voting and counting ended around 1pm and Maxwell Koffie Lugudor was confirmed the MCE for Ketu South Municipal assembly with 49 Yes votes, representing 86% .
There were 8 NO votes which represent 14%
Total valid vote casted was 57.
The Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji Yusif Ibrahim announced to the assembly members the swearing-in of new government appointees of the Assembly, and the assembly members were not pleased.
The assembly members, among others, argued that they were not informed of the decision to revoke the appointment of the previous appointees and that the meeting would continue without a member presiding over it.
The assembly members took a short break, they came back with a recommendation that a member should be appointed to preside over the exercise. They then nominated Hon. Prosper Atoklo and Hon. Moses Xorse Kordorwu, and Hon. Moses Xorse Kordorwu received the nod to be the PM giving way for the start of the exercise which ended successful.
